"We tried this restaurant for my birthday celebration, and they definitely did not disappoint at all. The food came out, hot, fresh, and you can tell that this is not something they threw in the microwave. It was such a refreshing dining experience. The extra little nostalgia throwbacks in the decor around the restaurant is an added extra special touch and the music was great too. The service was also top notch. So whoever worked on March 30th at night...we came in right before you were closing and you still treated us great and didn't rush us out and let us take our pictures and all. You were all great, from our friendly, awesome waitress to the cooks! Thank you โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ"

"What a great experience! Iโ€™ve recently gone gluten free, and decided to try their buffalo chicken pizza. To be honest, I couldnโ€™t tell the difference between a regular crust and gluten free crust. We had great service and the price point was great for the family."

The Royal Pizza Legend

The story goes that in 1889, a Neapolitan pizzaiolo named Raffaele Esposito crafted the Pizza Margherita in honor of the visiting Queen Margherita of Savoy. He used ingredients representing the colors of the Italian flag: red tomatoes, white mozzarella, and green basil. This pie not only delighted the queen but also sparked the widespread popularity of what remains one of the world's most iconic pizzas.

History

Connecticut's Coal-Fired Secrets

New Haven, Connecticut, is renowned for its distinctive apizza, a style that emphasizes a thin, charred crust baked in coal-fired ovens. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, established in 1925, is often credited with pioneering this style, especially famous for its white clam pizza. The use of coal ovens, which reach higher temperatures than gas or electric ones, imparts a unique charred flavor that pizza enthusiasts proudly associate with New Haven.

Pizza's American Boom

After World War II, pizza began its transformation into a staple across the United States, fueled by returning servicemen who had developed a taste for it while stationed in Italy. By the 1950s, it was a fixture in American pop culture, even making an appearance in an episode of 'I Love Lucy.' This period also saw the advent of pizza chains like Pizza Hut and Domino's, laying the groundwork for the pizza delivery revolution.
